Junior/Senior Project

Junior/Senior Project Graduation Requirement

The Junior – Senior Project will begin in the Junior year and finish in the Senior year. This Project will consist of 3 Required Parts:

  • Research Document
  • Physical Product (specific to each career tech area)
  • Oral Presentation
    These Projects will be overseen by the related instructor. The academic instructors will also be involved in the instruction and grading process.

September 26

Assembly to introduce project (Principal &Curriculum Coordinator)

October

Topics discussed in related class

November

Writing proposals taught and graded in English Class

January 30

Written project proposal, approved by related teacher to be graded by the English teacher as an essay. It should be submitted to the English teacher by January 29. This essay will be counted as a 3d quarter test grade in English and included as part of the Senior Project grade by the Related teacher. It needs to be returned to the related teacher by February 12.

March

Research concepts and process taught and graded in History class.

May 7

1-3 page research paper on topic approved by related teacher and graded by History teachers using the rubric. This grade will be counted as a 4th quarter test grade in History and included as part of the Senior Project grade by the Related teacher. It needs to be returned to the related teacher by May 21.

 

 

SENIOR YEAR

 

October 28

Critical thinking/Data analysis /Math problem solving/Business cost analysis. Paper approved by related teacher for content and graded by the Math teacher using rubric. This grade will be counted as a 1st quarter test grade in Math and included as part of the Senior Project grade by the Related teacher. It needs to be returned to the related teacher before November 23.

 

 

December 5

 

 

Science Component: Approved by related teacher for content and graded by science teacher using the rubric. This grade will be counted as a 2nd quarter test grade in Science and included as part of the Senior Project grade by the Related teacher. It needs to be returned to the related teacher before January 6.

February 6

English Component: Approved by the related teacher for content and graded by the English teacher using the rubric. This grade will be counted as a 3d quarter test grade in English and included as part of the Senior Project grade by the Related teacher. It needs to be returned to the related teacher by March 2.

March 16

Research Document on Management/Entrepreneurship –Approved by related teacher for content and graded by both teachers using rubric. This grade will be counted as a 3d quarter test grade in English and Related and included as part of the Senior Project grade by the Related teacher. It needs to be returned to the Related teacher before March 30.

April 30-May 4

Oral Presentation and Written Report: Oral presentation to related teacher and department head and graded by related teacher using rubric. Written report graded by the related teacher based on the rubric. Physical Project or Audio Visual Model (i.e. Power Point should be included in the presentation. This grade will be counted as the final exam grade in Related. It needs to be completed and graded by the related teacher before May 13.

May 16

Grades for Junior/Senior Project submitted by related teacher to Curriculum Coordinator, Deans and Principal as graduation requirement.
