PROGRAM SUMMARY - GRAPHIC COMMUNICATIONS
The Graphic Communications program is no longer focused on just the Printing Industry. Students are provided with the fundamental skills needed for the mass production of promotional and marketing materials. Using Macintosh computers and a hands-on approach, students are introduced to a variety of desktop publishing, image editing, and illustration software programs such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. This experience serves as a solid background for those interested in pursuing a career not only in Commercial Printing, but also in the Screen Printing, Wide Format, and Sign Industries. Principles of design and color, digital printing, illustration, and offset printing are covered in detail. Experience is gained from working on live jobs both around the school and for locally-based customers.
