Knight of the Week - Senior Spotlight

Name: Dellana Wall

Hometown: Saugus

CTE Shop: Design & Visual

Favorite class: AP Literature with Ms. West

One skill/lesson you’ve learned at Northeast that you’ll take with you: I have learned to interact with various stakeholders and get a feel for the real life design industry. During my junior year, I worked routinely with school administrators looking for design projects for events like Advisory, 8th Grade Open House, publications on the construction of the new Northeast Metro Tech school building, and more. This helped me improve my professionalism and get a better understanding of communication that will help me in my future career plans.

A person who has inspired you to be your best: Mr. Peluso, my Studio 12 Shop Teacher. Mr. Peluso has used his extensive knowledge and experience in the field to help me improve my overall design skills.

Favorite quote: “How you do anything is how you do everything.” - Mr. Brian Peluso

Plans after graduation: I plan to pursue an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts with a focus on Design at North Shore Community College.

Metal Fabrication Creates "Name That Tune" Trophy

Metal Fabrication students recently created a custom trophy for "Name That Tune," a monthly activity organized by the Counseling Department to support students’ social-emotional learning. The musical challenge provides a fun and engaging way for the entire school to connect.

The trophy was designed and fabricated by Metal Fabrication juniors Evan Sumares (Melrose) and Shawn Post (Woburn), with assistance from sophomore Mason Juliano (Revere). The final product was made possible through collaboration with Auto Body, which provided the paint finish, and STEM, which laser-cut the placard.

World Language Field Trip Celebrates Italian American Heritage Month

On Tuesday, October 28, World Language students visited the Italian Consulate in Boston for a field trip celebrating Italian American Heritage Month. In the photos below, students take part in one of three creative Italian workshops, using liquid silk to design colorful images that change color based on pH levels. The workshop was led by members of Tufts University’s Silklab, an all-Italian research team reimagining natural materials for advanced technology, global health, and our planet’s future. Their innovative work with biomaterials bridges the gap between nature and technology, transforming materials into “living materials.”

Dental Assisting Supports Mission of Mercy Foundation

The Massachusetts Dental Society’s Mission of Mercy Foundation is hosting a free clinic on November 15 in Worcester to provide dental care for uninsured and underinsured patients. To support the event, Dr. Janis Moriarity invited Northeast’s Dental Assisting program to collect items for care packages. Students have already gathered many items and are still in need of donations of travel-size toiletries, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, mouth rinse, hand sanitizer, chapstick, deodorant, and tissues. Donations may be placed in the tote in the Dental Assisting shop. The last day to donate is November 7. For questions, contact Dental Assisting Interim Department Head Johanna Rooney-LaFauci at 📧 jlafauci@northeastmetrotech.com.

Health Assisting Students Celebrate Halloween at Shapiro–Rudolph Health Center

For the past three years, the Shapiro–Rudolph Adult Day Health Center has served as a clinical site for Health Assisting students. The partnership provides meaningful, hands-on experiences that build both skill and compassion in care. Recently, sophomore Health Assisting students visited the center to celebrate Halloween. Wearing fun costumes, they brought joy and helped create a welcoming atmosphere while engaging with adults.

We encourage all students to take part in this important conversation and to remember that healthy choices today create a brighter future tomorrow. For questions or additional information, please contact SADD Advisor Sarah Pierce at spierce@northeastmetrotech.com.

Cell Phone Policy

Students are expected to engage in learning opportunities in each class/shop throughout the school day. Cell phones and smartwatches distract students from participating in lessons, completing assignments, contributing to class discussions, and collaborating with teachers and classmates. Unsanctioned cell phone/smartwatch use during instructional time is prohibited. All learning spaces, including classrooms and shop areas, are equipped with cell phone holders, where students must place their silenced devices upon arrival. Violations, including unauthorized photographing or video recording, may result in disciplinary action. Students are permitted to use their devices during lunch.

Emergency calls by students should be made in an administrative office, and families should contact Office A at (781) 246-0810 ext. 1644 for individual student needs. Headphones/earbuds may be used for educational purposes only; otherwise, students should remove them. Bluetooth speakers are not allowed in the building.

Student Parking - Class of 2026

At this time, parking spaces allotted for students have been filled. Grade 12 students who complete the Student Parking Application Form (using their Northeast email account) will be added to a waitlist. Students in good standing, as approved by their dean, will be contacted in the order of submission if additional spaces become available. We aim to make as many spaces available to students as possible.

Please note: The form must be completed using the student's Northeast email account. Students will be required to enter their driver’s license number, vehicle information (make, model, color, and year), and license plate number, and upload a copy of their valid Massachusetts driver’s license and vehicle registration.

Parking spaces reserved for students are located in sections A and A2 on this image. All student vehicles parked on Northeast Metro Tech property must have a parking sticker properly displayed (affixed to the windshield above the inspection sticker on the passenger side). Detailed student parking information and expectations can be found by viewing this document.
