Knight of the Week - Senior Spotlight

Name: Nicholas Lopez Anzueto

Hometown: Malden

CTE Shop: Auto Technology

Favorite class: Statistics with Mr. Lippman

One skill/lesson you’ve learned at Northeast that you’ll take with you: Throughout my years at Northeast some important skills and lessons that I've developed are a strong work ethic, integrity and patience. Being in Auto Tech you work with cars and one thing you quickly learn is that not everything is going to go the way you want it. The teachers are a great example of good work ethic and being integral people, but most importantly being patient not only with the cars but with students.

A person who has inspired you to be your best: I would say my new wrestling coach, Coach DeVincent. He just recently came into my life but I would say that he really inspired me. I could tell that the coach doesn't live by ideology but by principle, and I look up to that. I don't really know him personally but his actions speaks volumes. I’ve been able to reflect, and grow and I'm very thankful for that.

Favorite quote: “To be, or not to be, that is the question.” — William Shakespeare

Plans after graduation: Go to college and major in psychology, to become a therapist or work in social services.

National School Counseling Week: February 2-6, 2026

National School Counseling Week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), will be celebrated Monday, February 2 through Friday, February 6. School counselors play a vital role in student success by supporting academic and career technical goals, guiding postsecondary and career planning, fostering social-emotional growth, and promoting overall student well-being. Through collaboration with families, faculty, staff, and community partners, school counselors advocate for students and help enhance their school experience as they work toward reaching their full potential.

Thank you to our dedicated school counselors (pictured below) for their invaluable contributions and the positive impact they make in our students' lives.

CTE Midyear Performance Assessments

All students in Grades 10, 11, and 12 will participate in midyear performance assessments as part of their career technical education program. These competency-based assessments measure students’ progress toward career technical frameworks through project-based learning, critical thinking, practical tasks, simulations, service scenarios, and product demonstrations.

Assessment Schedule:
  • Grade 11: Tuesday, January 20 through Friday, January 23
  • Grades 10 & 12: Monday, January 26 through Friday, January 30
The assessments are administered by career technical instructors and serve as an important checkpoint at the midpoint of the school year. Instructors use the results to provide meaningful feedback to students, identify strengths and areas for growth, and inform future instruction that supports continued skill development, postsecondary preparation, and career readiness.

The images below showcase Grade 10 and 12 midyear performance assessments, held from Wednesday, January 28 through Friday, January 30.

Violations, including unauthorized photographing or video recording, may result in disciplinary action. Students are permitted to use their devices during lunch.
