Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving is a time to gather with family and friends, enjoy great food, and take a well-deserved moment to unwind. It is also an opportunity to reflect on all we are grateful for and to show kindness to those in need. As we prepare for a relaxing, enjoyable Thanksgiving break, we extend a sincere thank you to the students, families, faculty, and staff who make Northeast Metro Tech a special place.

Walter Reyes Martinez

Knight of the Week - Senior Spotlight

Name: Walter Reyes Martinez

Hometown: Malden

CTE Shop: HVAC/R

Favorite class: HVAC/R Shop

One skill/lesson you’ve learned at Northeast that you’ll take with you: The HVAC/R teachers taught me to be ready for the workforce. They highlighted communication with people as it is very important in the industry, with a boss, co-workers, and customers. Also, it is very important, when working hands-on, that we think outside the box and problem-solve to adapt to the environment and challenges.

A person who has inspired you to be your best: Mr. Moulison always treats everyone with respect. One day, I was very frustrated while trying to assemble a sheet metal project, and Mr. Moulison checked in because he noticed I was having trouble. He asked me to stop what I was doing, take a breath, and take a look at it with a fresh set of eyes. He told me he knew I could do this project. He taught me to be patient and to have confidence in my ability. I use this advice in and out of shop all the time.

Favorite quote: "Talent without working hard is nothing." – Cristiano Ronaldo

Plans after graduation: I want to work in the HVACR field. I am interested in new construction installations, including running ductwork, installing air handlers, and installing condenser units. I want to be responsible for and proud of the job done well the first time. I would like to be accepted into the HVAC/R Pipefitters Union.

NHS & NTHS Induction Ceremony Honors Student Achievement

On Wednesday, November 19, Northeast held its National Honor Society (NHS) and National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) Induction Ceremony at Galvin Middle School in Wakefield. The event celebrated students who exemplify excellence in scholarship, leadership, career technical achievement, character, and service. Families, faculty, and staff gathered to recognize the newest inductees and honor their commitment to the values upheld by both societies.

During each ceremony, student officers from NHS and NTHS also recognized educators for their dedicated service to Northeast and the lasting impact they have had on students: Stephen Boyd (Metal Fabrication), Rick Stewart (STEM), Amy West (English), and Paul Kirwin (History), pictured below from left to right.

Thank you to Honor Societies Advisor Vicki Bagtaz and all who helped make the evening a memorable celebration of our outstanding students.

Cell Phone Policy

Students are expected to engage in learning opportunities in each class/shop throughout the school day. Cell phones and smartwatches distract students from participating in lessons, completing assignments, contributing to class discussions, and collaborating with teachers and classmates. Unsanctioned cell phone/smartwatch use during instructional time is prohibited. All learning spaces, including classrooms and shop areas, are equipped with cell phone holders, where students must place their silenced devices upon arrival. Violations, including unauthorized photographing or video recording, may result in disciplinary action. Students are permitted to use their devices during lunch.

Emergency calls by students should be made in an administrative office, and families should contact Office A at (781) 246-0810 ext. 1644 for individual student needs. Headphones/earbuds may be used for educational purposes only; otherwise, students should remove them. Bluetooth speakers are not allowed in the building.

Student Parking - Class of 2026

At this time, parking spaces allotted for students have been filled. Grade 12 students who complete the Student Parking Application Form (using their Northeast email account) will be added to a waitlist. Students in good standing, as approved by their dean, will be contacted in the order of submission if additional spaces become available. We aim to make as many spaces available to students as possible.

Please note: The form must be completed using the student's Northeast email account. Students will be required to enter their driver’s license number, vehicle information (make, model, color, and year), and license plate number, and upload a copy of their valid Massachusetts driver’s license and vehicle registration.

Parking spaces reserved for students are located in sections A and A2 on this image. All student vehicles parked on Northeast Metro Tech property must have a parking sticker properly displayed (affixed to the windshield above the inspection sticker on the passenger side). Detailed student parking information and expectations can be found by viewing this document.
