One skill/lesson you’ve learned at Northeast that you’ll take with you: One skill I’ve learned at Northeast that I’ll take with me is the ability to stay responsible and manage my time well. Between classes, assignments, and activities, I learned how important it is to stay organized and keep track of what needs to be done. Northeast taught me that being responsible isn’t just about completing work but staying prepared, and holding myself accountable for my work in school.
A person who has inspired you to be your best: Mr. Caven is the person who has inspired me the most. He isn’t just a teacher, he pushes you to believe in yourself, even when you’re unsure. He explains things in a way that makes learning fun rather than stressful, and he always takes time to help, no matter how busy he is. What makes him stand out is how much he truly cares about his students’ success in the shop and in life. His patience, encouragement, and support motivate me to work harder and become my best.
Favorite quote: “Treat everyone with politeness and kindness, not because they are nice, but because you are." - Roy T. Bennett
Plans after graduation: Attend Franklin Cummings Tech to pursue a comprehensive education in Mechatronics.
Student Parking Update for Juniors - Gold Weeks Only
As parking spaces have become available due to seniors being on Co-op, a limited number of spots will be open to Grade 11 students for Gold Weeks only. Beginning Sunday, December 14 at 12:00 p.m. (noon), interested juniors may complete the Student Parking Application Form to be added to a waitlist. Students in good standing, as approved by their dean, will be contacted in the order that the form was completed to purchase a parking sticker for $25 in the Business Office.
Please note: The form must be completed using the student's Northeast email account, and students will be required to upload a copy of their valid Massachusetts driver’s license and vehicle registration.
Once juniors receive a parking sticker, they may begin parking in the designated student parking areas during Gold Weeks only. As additional spaces become available, Grade 11 students will be contacted in the order the form was submitted. We aim to make as many spaces available to students as possible.
Parking spaces reserved for students are located in sections A and A2 on this image. All student vehicles parked on Northeast Metro Tech property must have a parking sticker properly displayed (affixed to the windshield above the inspection sticker on the passenger side). Detailed student parking information and expectations can be found by viewing this document.

Postcards of Gratitude
Inspired by Melrose Kind, Northeast launched Postcards of Gratitude, an initiative that invites students to recognize a person in the field of education who has made a positive impact on their lives. All Northeast students participated during their English classes, writing personal postcards to educators and staff, past or present, from any school or district who supported them at any point in their educational journey. Students were excited to craft handwritten messages of appreciation during the holiday season.
The postcards were created by our Design and Visual students. A sample is shown below.

Health Assisting Students Share Expertise on Revere TV
On Thursday, December 4, Health Assisting juniors appeared on Revere TV to share their knowledge of essential first-aid and health practices. Students demonstrated how to relieve a blocked airway for adults, children, and infants; explained immediate steps for treating minor burns; and outlined the warning signs of heart attacks and strokes. They also discussed the importance of understanding diverse dietary practices while making healthy choices. This collaboration reflects their dedication to community health education and their growing skills as future healthcare professionals.
Senior Health Assisting Students Begin Clinical Rotations
Senior Health Assisting students have begun their clinical rotations at CHA Whidden Hospital in Everett. As Certified Nursing Assistants, they are shadowing professionals across multiple departments, including the Emergency Room, Operating Room, Outpatient Rehabilitation, Med-Surg, Laboratory, Radiology, Respiratory Care, and Geriatric Psychiatry. These rotations provide valuable hands-on experience that supports the senior-year acute care curriculum and offer meaningful exposure to real-world patient care.

Laser-Etched Holiday Creations from the STEM Innovation Lab
Senior students brought holiday cheer to the STEM Innovation Lab by using the Epilog Laser to create winter-themed designs. Students completed the full design-to-production process: developing their concepts, editing in Corel Draw, and laser etching or cutting their final pieces. Projects ranged from three-dimensional animals and landscape scenes to festive decorations, highlighting both their creativity and their growing mastery of digital design and advanced fabrication tools.

Families with questions should contact Food Services Director Jessica Bates:
Students are expected to engage in learning opportunities in each class/shop throughout the school day. Cell phones and smartwatches distract students from participating in lessons, completing assignments, contributing to class discussions, and collaborating with teachers and classmates. Unsanctioned cell phone/smartwatch use during instructional time is prohibited. All learning spaces, including classrooms and shop areas, are equipped with cell phone holders, where students must place their silenced devices upon arrival. Violations, including unauthorized photographing or video recording, may result in disciplinary action. Students are permitted to use their devices during lunch.
Emergency calls by students should be made in an administrative office, and families should contact Office A at (781) 246-0810 ext. 1644 for individual student needs. Headphones/earbuds may be used for educational purposes only; otherwise, students should remove them. Bluetooth speakers are not allowed in the building.
